First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at how HIV affects a natural cell process called autophagy, which helps clean up damaged parts of cells. Researchers will compare blood samples from 180 HIV-positive people (on therapy or untreated) and healthy volunteers. The goal is to understand why immune cells may not work properly even when HIV is controlled, which could lead to better treatments.
