First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a lab-made antibody called VRC01 could help people with HIV control the virus without taking daily HIV medication. Thirteen people who got HIV during a vaccine study and had taken HIV drugs for at least a year stopped their medication under close monitoring. Researchers measured how long they could stay off drugs and whether their immune system kept the virus in check.
