Real-Time scanner could halve repeat surgeries for High-Risk breast cancer
NCT ID NCT07527468
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a special scanner (Histolog®) can help surgeons see if any cancer cells remain at the edges of removed tissue during breast-conserving surgery. About 228 women with certain high-risk breast cancers will take part. If the scanner works well, fewer women may need a second operation to remove leftover cancer.
