NCT ID NCT07104084

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two antiseptic washes used during hip replacement surgery to see which one helps wounds heal better. About 420 adults with hip osteoarthritis or avascular necrosis will be randomly assigned to receive either povidone-iodine or chlorhexidine wash after their new hip joint is placed. Researchers will evaluate scar appearance and complications like drainage or infection at 2 and 6 weeks after surgery.
