New tool tested to help hip surgery wounds heal better
NCT ID NCT07237737
Summary
This study will compare two approaches to hip replacement surgery to see if using a special wound retractor device leads to better healing and fewer infections. Researchers will enroll 202 people with hip osteoarthritis who are getting their first hip replacement through a specific surgical approach. The main goal is to see if the device helps wounds heal faster and leaves less noticeable scars compared to surgery without it.
