Walk it off? study tests faster recovery after hip surgery

NCT ID NCT05720806

Summary

This study is testing if patients can safely put weight on their leg and walk sooner after common hip surgery for a torn labrum and impingement. It compares the standard approach of using crutches for weeks with a new protocol that allows walking as tolerated right after surgery. Researchers want to see if walking earlier helps people recover faster and get back to their normal activities with less fear of movement.
