New nerve block recipe aims to ease Seniors' Post-Surgery pain

NCT ID NCT07327372

Summary

This study is testing if adding a medication called dexmedetomidine to a standard pain-blocking injection can provide longer and better pain relief after hip surgery. It involves 30 older adults who will be randomly assigned to receive the standard injection or the new combination. The goal is to help patients move sooner after surgery with less pain and potentially reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers.
