New nerve block aims to ease hip surgery pain without leg weakness

NCT ID NCT07452120

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to manage pain after hip replacement surgery. It will compare two different types of nerve blocks, which are injections of numbing medicine near nerves, to see which one provides better pain relief with less leg weakness. Seventy patients having hip surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two nerve block techniques, and their pain levels and medication use will be tracked for 48 hours.
