Could kids with hip problems spend half the time in casts?
NCT ID NCT07289256
Summary
This study aims to find out if children with developmental hip dysplasia (DDH) need to wear a full-body hip cast for 12 weeks after surgery, or if 6 weeks works just as well. Researchers will compare two groups of children (ages 18 months to 6 years) who have had hip surgery—one group wears the cast for 6 weeks, the other for 12 weeks. They will check if the hip stays in place, how well the child moves afterward, and if there are fewer skin problems or other issues with the shorter cast time.
