Back injection tested to ease hip surgery pain

NCT ID NCT07418671

Summary

This study tested whether adding common medications (dexamethasone or magnesium sulfate) to a standard numbing injection in the lower back could better control pain after hip replacement surgery. Researchers compared how long pain relief lasted and how much extra pain medication 66 patients needed after their operations. The goal was to find a safer, more effective way to manage post-surgery discomfort.
