New injection could slash pain pills after hip surgery

NCT ID NCT07410000

Summary

This study is testing a new type of numbing injection, called a Quadro-Iliac Plane (QIP) block, to see if it better controls pain after hip replacement surgery. Researchers want to know if this block can help patients use fewer opioid painkillers in the first day after their operation. About 100 adults having elective hip replacement will be randomly assigned to receive either the real numbing injection or a placebo (saltwater) injection for comparison.
