Complex surgery gives kids a new hip joint

NCT ID NCT07321418

Summary

This study looks at the long-term results of a complex surgery for children who lost part of their hip bone due to a severe joint infection. Doctors take a growth plate and bone from the patient's lower leg and transplant it to the damaged hip, aiming to restore growth and function. The research will follow 20 patients for at least five years to see how well the hip works and heals over time.
