New nail for broken hips under observation in seniors

NCT ID NCT05197335

First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at how well a special metal nail (Chimaera) works in elderly patients aged 65 and older who broke their upper thigh bone near the hip. Researchers tracked 206 patients to see if any needed a second surgery and how well they recovered movement and independence. The goal was to gather real-world safety and performance data, not to test a new treatment.
