Mayo clinic tests whether extra surgery step improves hip dysplasia outcomes

NCT ID NCT03181048

Summary

This study aims to determine if adding a minimally invasive camera procedure (hip arthroscopy) during standard hip dysplasia surgery leads to better pain relief and function compared to the standard surgery alone. Researchers will enroll 106 patients aged 15-55 with hip dysplasia and minimal arthritis. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the combined procedure or the standard surgery, and their recovery will be tracked for two years.
