First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at how high-intensity interval training (HIIT) affects blood sugar control in women with type 2 diabetes, comparing those before and after menopause. Sixty women aged 40-65 who were not regularly exercising took part in a supervised HIIT program. The goal was to see if this time-efficient exercise could improve long-term blood sugar levels, insulin sensitivity, and other health markers.
