HIIT boosts heart health in stroke survivors, new trial shows
NCT ID NCT06132516
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on a stationary bike can improve heart rate variability—a key sign of good recovery—in people who recently had a stroke. About 50 patients in the early stages of recovery will either do HIIT or low-intensity exercises for 6 weeks. Researchers will track heart health over several months to see if HIIT leads to better outcomes.
