Can intense workouts reverse muscle aging in nursing homes?

NCT ID NCT07315789

Summary

This study tested whether a high-intensity interval strength training program could help older adults with sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) living in nursing homes. Researchers compared the exercise program to a control group to see if it improved hand grip strength, muscle mass, and physical performance. The goal was to find a practical exercise approach to ease the symptoms of muscle weakness and improve mobility in this vulnerable population.
