Robot-assisted treadmills help stroke survivors walk again?

NCT ID NCT06497309

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested two advanced rehabilitation devices—a treadmill and an overground walking trainer—to help 80 stroke patients regain their ability to walk. Participants used either the C-Mill treadmill or the Andago overground device alongside standard therapy. The goal was to see which approach better improved balance, gait, and independence.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that high-tech rehabilitation devices improve walking recovery after stroke better than standard therapy alone.

What could go wrong

This is a small, completed study comparing two similar technologies, so results may not be dramatic or widely applicable. No new drug or cure is being tested.
