New study hopes to make breathing easier for tracheostomy patients
NCT ID NCT06897319
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a device that delivers warm, moist air directly into the tracheostomy tube can help thin and clear mucus, making it easier to cough up. Fifteen adults who already use this device at night will have their mucus tested with and without the therapy. The goal is to see if it improves comfort and reduces shortness of breath.
