New study tests if warm air can loosen mucus in tracheostomy patients
NCT ID NCT06897319
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether a special high-flow air treatment changes the thickness and stickiness of mucus in people who have a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the neck). Fifteen adults will take part, and researchers will compare mucus samples with and without the therapy. They will also check if the treatment helps with shortness of breath and overall comfort.
