New oxygen method could help brain injury patients breathe freer sooner

NCT ID NCT07257016

Summary

This study is testing a new way to give oxygen to brain injury patients who are on breathing machines. The goal is to see if delivering warm, humidified oxygen at a high flow directly through their breathing tube is safe and feasible for patients who can breathe on their own but still need the tube to protect their airway. If successful, this approach could help patients get off the ventilator sooner and reduce the risk of complications like pneumonia.
