Fiber fix: could eating more beans and wholegrains ward off early bowel cancer?

NCT ID NCT07279454

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether eating more fiber (40 grams per day) can improve gut health markers linked to early-onset colorectal cancer. About 200 adults in the UK will follow either the standard healthy eating guide or a higher-fiber version for 12 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in stool, blood, urine, and saliva to see if the extra fiber makes a difference.
