Heartburn drug tested as potential weapon against pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT04930991

Summary

This early study is testing whether giving high doses of the common heartburn medication omeprazole is safe for pancreatic cancer patients before their surgery. Researchers want to see if the drug causes measurable changes in the cancer cells that might help future treatments. The study involves 60 patients who will take either a high or standard dose for about two weeks before their planned operation.
