Fewer shots for better sight? High-Dose eye injection trial aims to ease treatment burden
NCT ID NCT06422507
Summary
This study is testing if a higher dose (8 mg) of an eye injection called aflibercept can treat diabetic macular edema (DME) as effectively as the standard lower dose (2 mg), but with fewer injections needed. About 333 Chinese adults with DME will receive injections either every 8 weeks (standard dose) or every 16 weeks (higher dose) to see if vision improves similarly. The main goal is to see if the higher dose given less often works just as well for vision after 48 weeks.
