Weekly infusion trial aims to ease deadly fluid buildup in liver patients

NCT ID NCT05867602

Summary

This study is testing if giving a higher, weekly dose of a protein called albumin can better control a dangerous fluid buildup in the abdomen (ascites) for people with advanced liver cirrhosis. It will compare the standard care to standard care plus weekly albumin infusions in 100 participants. The main goals are to see if the high-dose treatment reduces the need for fluid-draining procedures, prevents other serious complications, and improves one-year survival.
