To fix or not to fix? study tests best approach for hidden hernias

Summary
This study aims to determine the best way to handle small, hidden hernias discovered during groin surgery. When surgeons find an unexpected hernia on the opposite side while repairing a known hernia, they will randomly assign patients to either have it fixed immediately or simply monitor it over time. Researchers will follow 380 adults for two years to compare recovery, quality of life, and whether the hidden hernia eventually causes problems needing surgery.
