Surgery's impact on swallowing: new study probes Esophagus-Stomach junction
NCT ID NCT04450628
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at how repairing a hiatal hernia changes the stretchiness of the area where the esophagus meets the stomach. Researchers will measure this during surgery in 25 adults and check if it relates to heartburn and swallowing problems after the operation. The goal is to better understand how the surgery affects these functions.
