NCT ID NCT07129473
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking metformin-XR (a pill usually used for diabetes) before pregnancy can lower the risk and severity of Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG)—a severe form of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. The trial will include 224 women aged 18-49 who have had HG in a past pregnancy and are trying to conceive. Participants will either take daily metformin-XR or join a survey-only group, and researchers will track HG recurrence, pregnancy outcomes, and side effects.
