New nerve block study aims to reduce pain after hernia repair

NCT ID NCT07343570

Summary

This study compares two different nerve-block techniques for pain relief after open hernia surgery in adults. Researchers will measure which method provides better pain control and reduces the need for opioid pain medication during the first 24 hours after surgery. The trial involves 66 participants who will receive one of the two nerve-block approaches, with neither patients nor doctors knowing which method was used.
