Ancient herbal brew joins fight against stomach bug
NCT ID NCT06340724
Summary
This study tested whether adding a traditional Chinese herbal formula (Banxiaxiexin decoction) to a standard two-drug antibiotic treatment could better treat a common stomach infection (H. pylori) and the chronic indigestion that often comes with it. Researchers compared the combined herbal-drug therapy against the drug therapy alone in 104 adults. The main goal was to see if the herbal addition could improve the infection cure rate and reduce stomach discomfort and side effects.
