Ancient ointment tested to stop blood thinner bleeding

NCT ID NCT07339956

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a traditional Chinese herbal ointment called Yiwei Jiaohuang can help stop minor stomach or intestinal bleeding in people taking common blood-thinning medications like aspirin or warfarin. Researchers will compare the ointment against a standard stomach acid medicine to see if it helps clear hidden blood from stool tests faster. About 60 adult participants with minor bleeding will apply the ointment daily for two weeks and have their stool checked several times.
