Ancient herbs tested to soothe painful radiation burns

NCT ID NCT07380230

Summary

This study will test whether a traditional Chinese herbal formula can help prevent and treat the painful skin burns that often occur during radiation therapy for breast cancer. Sixty patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the herbal formula or a placebo, in addition to standard skin care, during their radiation treatment. Researchers will measure the severity of skin reactions, healing time, and quality of life to see if the herbal formula provides any benefit.
