First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving the blood thinner heparin before inserting a tube into the wrist artery can prevent blockage of that artery after a heart procedure. About 550 adults having a heart procedure through the wrist will be randomly assigned to get heparin either before or after tube insertion. The main goal is to see which timing reduces artery blockage, checked by ultrasound the next day.
