New hope for tough breast cancers: smart switch to targeted drug combo

NCT ID NCT07528898

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a personalized approach for people with HER2-positive breast cancer. After two cycles of standard therapy, those whose tumors shrink less than 40% will switch to a new drug combination (SHR-A1811 plus pertuzumab) for four more cycles before surgery. The goal is to see if this switch can eliminate more cancer cells by the time of surgery. About 100 adults aged 18-70 with early or locally advanced breast cancer will take part.
