First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special type of scan (PET scan) can help doctors decide how to treat a rare fungal infection in the liver and spleen. The infection happens in people with weakened immune systems, such as those with blood cancer or who had a stem cell transplant. The study enrolled 100 adults and compared scan results with standard tests to see if the PET scan was useful for guiding treatment.
