Summary

This study aimed to understand how common hepatitis E infection is in people who have received organ transplants in the United States. Researchers compared blood samples from 447 adults who had a transplant with those waiting for one to see who had signs of the virus. The goal was to learn if hepatitis E becomes a lasting problem after transplant, which could help improve future patient care.
