Blood test confusion: study probes if common blood thinner skews critical medication monitoring

NCT ID NCT07302620

Summary

This study aims to understand if common blood thinners (heparins) interfere with the accuracy of lab tests used to monitor a different blood thinner called argatroban. Researchers will analyze blood samples from 70 adult patients already taking heparin to see if the test overestimates argatroban's effect. The goal is to improve the safety of switching between these medications by ensuring doctors have accurate test results for dosing.
