Extra filter added to dialysis aims to ease patient suffering

NCT ID NCT05639010

Summary

This study is testing if adding a special blood filter, called hemoperfusion, to regular dialysis treatments helps remove more harmful toxins from the blood. It involves 410 adults with end-stage kidney disease who are already on stable dialysis. Researchers will compare standard dialysis to dialysis plus the extra filter to see if it improves toxin levels, sleep, itching, and overall quality of life.
