Could a drink replace the needle for cancer scans?
NCT ID NCT07295171
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether cancer patients can drink a radioactive sugar (called FDG) instead of getting it through an IV for a PET scan. About 27 adults who already had a standard PET scan will get a second scan using the oral method. Researchers want to see if the images are clear enough and if patients prefer drinking the sugar over the injection.
