First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested two treatments for chronic heel pain caused by heel spurs: posterior tibial nerve stimulation (a gentle electrical pulse) and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (sound waves). 100 adults with heel spurs were treated, and researchers measured how well each method reduced pain and improved foot function. Both treatments are non-invasive and aim to ease symptoms without surgery.
