Race to recovery: new heel surgery aims to get workers back on their feet faster

NCT ID NCT06249126

Summary

This study is comparing two surgical methods for fixing severe, displaced heel bone fractures. Researchers want to see if adding a joint fusion step to the standard repair helps patients return to work sooner and reduces long-term pain and arthritis. About 218 adults with these specific fractures will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgeries and followed for a year.
