Heavy periods and loose joints: a hidden connection?

NCT ID NCT05685199

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looked at whether women with heavy menstrual bleeding and no known cause might also have joint hypermobility (loose joints), which could point to an underlying connective tissue disorder. Researchers planned to compare bleeding severity and other health issues in 15 women aged 12-40 with and without hypermobility. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
