Hot chemo bath during surgery tested for Tough-to-Treat cancers

NCT ID NCT01970722

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether washing the abdomen with heated chemotherapy during cancer-removal surgery is safe and feasible for patients with advanced or recurrent ovarian, fallopian tube, uterine, or peritoneal cancers. The goal is to see if this approach, sometimes followed by additional chemotherapy, can help control the disease and improve quality of life. The trial is enrolling 40 patients to carefully monitor side effects and see how well patients do after treatment.
