Heating the cervix to fight persistent HPV: a new approach tested
NCT ID NCT07376031
Summary
This study tested whether a brief heat treatment applied to the cervix could help clear persistent HPV infections in women aged 40 and older. 131 women with a long-term HPV infection but no severe cell changes were randomly assigned to receive the heat treatment or no treatment, and then monitored for a year. The goal was to see if the treatment helped the body clear the virus compared to just watching and waiting.
