School heat safety: study tests 26°C limit for kids
NCT ID NCT07261202
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at whether keeping indoor temperatures at 26°C (the recommended limit for older adults) can prevent dangerous heat strain and thinking problems in children during a heatwave. Ten children aged 10 to 15 will spend six hours in a simulated hot school day at either 26°C or 36°C. Researchers will measure body temperature and mood changes to see if the cooler limit is enough to keep kids safe.
