Can paint and shade save lives in a heatwave?
NCT ID NCT06991543
Summary
This study is testing whether low-cost home improvements and practical advice can protect people's health during extreme heat in crowded, low-income neighborhoods of Karachi, Pakistan. Researchers will work with over 7,000 households to see if simple changes like adding shade, painting roofs with reflective paint, or improving airflow can reduce heat-related illnesses and improve quality of life. They will compare communities that receive these supports with similar communities that do not.
