New radiation technique aims to protect heart during cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07132918

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study tests whether a newer, MRI-guided radiation method (MRgART) is gentler on the heart than standard radiation for people with lung, esophageal, or other chest cancers. About 60 adults will receive radiation and undergo heart MRIs and blood tests to see how their heart function changes. The goal is to learn if the new approach reduces heart damage without compromising cancer treatment.
