New valve offers hope for adults with childhood heart conditions
NCT ID NCT02744677
Summary
This study is testing a replacement heart valve for adults and children (weighing at least 44 lbs) who were born with heart defects and now have a leaky or narrowed pulmonary valve. Doctors will implant the new valve using a catheter through a blood vessel, avoiding open-heart surgery. The goal is to see if this less invasive procedure is safe and effective at fixing the valve problem and improving blood flow from the heart to the lungs.
