Doctors test scans to spot heart trouble before it starts
NCT ID NCT06770062
Summary
This small pilot study aims to see if using special heart scans (CT and MRI) can help predict which patients might develop heart muscle weakness after surgery to fix a leaky heart valve. Researchers will enroll 30 adults with severe mitral valve leakage who are scheduled for robotic repair surgery at Mayo Clinic. The study is not testing a treatment, but rather gathering information to plan a larger future study about predicting heart function changes.
