Doctors test heart ultrasound to make pacemaker surgery faster and safer

NCT ID NCT05646251

Summary

This study tested whether using a heart ultrasound machine during pacemaker implantation helps doctors place the wires more accurately. Researchers wanted to see if this method reduces surgery time and lowers the amount of X-ray radiation needed during the procedure. They compared 33 patients who received the ultrasound-guided procedure to 20 previous patients who had the standard surgery.
