Revolutionary heart box trial aims to save more transplant lives

Summary

This study is testing a new system called OCS that keeps donor hearts warm and functioning outside the body, compared to the standard method of cold storage. It aims to improve heart function after transplant and increase survival rates in the first month. The trial will enroll 655 adult heart transplant candidates and evaluate hearts from different types of donors.
